Boy, my love for you,
I can’t express
Like poets do
Yet, my heart I pour
With simple expressions.
How time passes!
Remember two little brats?
Mother’s ‘new’ sweets
And clambered trees
Every eve we shared
Father’s spanking for mischief
And few moments we huddled
With pretentious dismay
But off we were again
To play new tricks.
Nights we spent
You created incredible tales,
While I lay gaping ,
Digesting each fib you lisped
Of your encounter with a lion.
We displayed some stunts too
Joy and pain we shared
Each moment we relished
Basking in our love
You soothed me
When my ruthless mates
Remarked me clumsy
You shielded me
From our enemies
We whispered our first’ loves’
And giggled together
That again, two little brats
Scud, hands clasped tight!
Clambering trees, creating ‘fibs’
With innocent adoration.
This was written for my brother on his birthday.
