Loneliness I tasted you
As a little babe
I’ve detested you
And resented you
Yet I loved you my companion
Just as the dusk loves dawn
Wasn’t it you?
Who made me desperate?
And tempted me
To yearn for the impossible?
Yet I kept pace
With this alarming march
A march toward nothingness
I never betrayed you
Then why was I burnt
With your stinging lips?
Didn’t you know, O Loneliness
That I was in love with you?
I trusted you
After the world betrayed.
Then where shall my heart stay?
To quench its desires
If not in your arms?
Loneliness, carry me away
To tour desolate expanse
My faculties numbed
I cannot persist
In this wretched expanse
Where love’s called mere madness
Life, a fantasy
And Death, a dream!

Published in hello student but the editors mistook loneliness for loveliness. Language is a game.
