The cousin

I was always curious as i watched her when i was a toddler....as i grew up i realized she was my first cousin but it simply did not strike me she was mentally retarded. for one thing she had saved my life twice and my brother's life once. Well when you are a scared up cat afraid to fall off a fast swing, you go on your knees to thank an elder cousin who pulls you down the swing with one hand. I also felt sheepish that people could see her mentally retarded when she was way better off than most in the family. she knew to share, she knew to save you when you fall off a swing or a cot... she knew to rock herself to the musical notes of any language... she was a genius in mixing multi lingual songs with ease... she hated people fighting or shouting... she hated to see me cry.... she was labelled mentally retarded but all in the family will have to hang their heads in shame for she never questioned why nobody was nearby when she died.
