The marvel of being human

Born as if part of a grand plan

and yet be part of a destiny

The ability to err, to feel the pain of guilt, and then the human gifts of confiding, confessing and forgiveness.

Unlike the divine, so unlike the angelic, so unlike sainthood.

The uniqueness of being human is to be...

guilty and victim,

wrong and be wronged,

cursed and blessed,

err and erring,

And that unique destiny of being born to harbour the pain of every guilt,

unpardoned, pardoned

to know the errors of our forefathers

that unique need to repeat errors

to condemn, to be condemned

to atone, to be atoned

sin and sinned

and the wonder of the process

of forgiveness in a sin

the wonder of human guilt

through and after a sin.
