Perhaps a little frozen within
from dearth the known
I startle at kindness the unknown.
Across no ties I meet a stranger
The kindest eyes for one,
Sensing a discomfort
like known for years,
Across unspoken plates
Inched across,
All with a warm smile
Again and then
again and now
the familiar mundane query
with every meet?
A stranger who will
never guess
How much
between
how do you do
n
what do you teach
I
sandwich
A kindness rare
To remember ever
A kindness
that spooned a lost day
A smile
like an unspelt human bond
on a platter served quiet.
