kind a -lone-ness

An act of kindness, especially at moments when most  needed will be remembered for  a lifetime.

A new place defines aloneness in a novel way. Sitting amidst strangers, strange settings can mean that alone feeling deep down like a coiled snake within your self.

You begin to feel that wedged border between a tightly held fist and a wrought tear.

And just then  a stranger across the table offers you the kindest of words and a smile. A gesture of acknowledgement especially  when done with an air of unconditional kindness will be treasured for  a lifetime, long after the stranger ceases even to be a presence around to care for yours.

Those trying moments, when you know you are alone and still survive among strangers, perhaps that is when you realise you will remember the way a stranger with the kindest eyes looked through your raw self.

To him,You may not mean much beyond the act of kindness done , but then your loneliest moment will rememeber how a stranger with the kindest eyes helped you become part of a world to survive. You never forget that first smile a kindness helped you discover.

Even though you will never be remembered by that stranger you just know within yourself you will never forget those eyes again nor that kindness.

And as departure nears, you know it will remain a part of you through life and  the grave.
