His eyes shone with love,
His lips flashed a smile,
Yet, my heart doubted love’s integrity
Bruised by bygone love’s betrayal
It refused to trust love
A fleeting glance hovered me
Confused I swerved
A knife turning in my heart,
Tears brimming my eyes
I scudded to nature’s home
The sun kissed the rippling fever
The bird nestled close to its lover
I watched the flowers steal a kiss
Creating an air of romance
And my heart suddenly merry
Seemed to leap out to join them.
Desperate for happiness
I grabbed the flowers
And smothered them with kisses
They incited love in my heart
And I wanted to dance
Dance with the flowers
I had found solace
And impeccable love
Nature was my home
I basked in its beauty
And Nature’s my lover.
