A Four Winged Bird

A four winged bird flew,
Then fell a three winged one.
It saw falling feathers,
And a winged bird
With broken wings.
It flew not, never flew.
For Him to force
Earthly hearts of longing see
A mirage, an illusion
Never hard was. It forgot
His power to bring death
To all feeling, thought and promises.
It remembered his creating power
And saw falling feathers of broken vows.
With wings, flight fails,
For it longed for four
And a traitor broke them all
Till it forgot the skies.
